You are important. Yet, we forget about ourselves because there are other things in our lives that we are putting first. When we aren’t noticing the signs that we need a break, it leads to exhaustion and stress. Self-care is an activity that every person needs to make time for.

When you make yourself a priority, you will find time.

Not only is not enough time an excuse, so is not having the money.  Self-care isn’t only about taking a vacation or shopping; even though that’s a good idea too.  You can also practice self-care with things that you already have for little to no extra cost to you. Below are some ideas that you should incorporate in your daily life for free or with things you may already have around. You will feel refreshed and less stressed. We all need breaks.

Many excellent suggestions! I love hot baths and I like the additions to the ritual to make it very special.

In our culture, we are trained to think that things that are valuable have to have monetary worth. We can do nice things for ourselves for little to no money at all. Great tips. Great insight. Thank you!

I have recently started doing a guided meditation each morning. It’s only 10 minutes but it really sets me up for a great productive day. Great article!

Great ideas for self-care.. I think the biggest obstacle for most people is allowing themselves to slow down and recharge their batteries. Self-care is so important, I’m an advocate for it, too! 🙂 Thanks for the suggestions.

I agree so much about not enough people advocate for themselves. It’s easier to push ourselves to the side because we have so much going on, but it’s so important to practice self-care! Once we make it a priority, it’s so much easier.

Lovely post, I’m so happy to have stumbled across your site! Self-care is so neglected in today’s busy schedules. My favourite is a warm bath with a bath bomb, my favourite candle burning, and my favourite chill out music on Pandora playing softly. I look forward to reading more of your articles!

I have actually never tried a bath bomb! My sister sent me one a few months ago and it’s just sitting there waiting for me. I think i’m a little nervous so I haven’t tried it yet! I really need to because I’ve heard so many good things.
